Pastor Charles W. Price, age 72 of Tennille passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center after a brief illness. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Richard Stavely will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Cody Jackson, Bobby Johnson, Preston Reese, Scott Reese, Jerry Veal and Matthew Bingham.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pastor Price was born in Hahira, Georgia on June 6, 1950, the son of the late Mallie S. Hancock and the late Lucille Hancock. He served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Pastor Price was an electrical engineer by trade working for over 30 years for Washington County Regional Medical Center as Director of Engineering until his retirement. He also wrote and recorded some of his own songs. Pastor Price was a follower of Jesus Christ and a minister of the Gospel, serving as pastor of Full Gospel Ministries, and travelling to various countries as a missionary, including, India, China, The Philippines, and Israel. He also found great pleasure in studying “end-time” prophecy and the Book of Revelation in order to make sure anyone he met was prepared. Pastor Price also possessed a great interest in tractors. He greatly loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Tony Lamar Price.
Pastor Price is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jean Hunter Price; children, Susan Darsey and her husband Jamie of East Dublin, Chuck Price of Milledgeville, Amy Lewis and her husband Andy or Tennille, Melissa Smith and Pam Reese and her husband Scott, both of Sandersville; grandchildren, Haven Hill, Malley Hill, Miya Banks, Lauren Jackson and her husband Cody, Kirsten Hollie, Carsyn Lewis, Erin Bingham and her husband Matthew, and Preston Reese and his wife Amber; great grandchildren, Addisyn Hollie, Camryn Jackson, and Maggie Bingham; sister in law, Sharon Price; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
