Charles Calvin Wommack began his life’s journey on Christmas Day of 1939 in Covington, Georgia. His parents, Jamie Roscoe Wommack and Eva Ann Cole Wommack guided his young life through his 1958 graduation from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone where his father was in foreign service. From his time in the Panama Canal Zone and childhood days spent in Paraguay, Charles became a lifelong, fluent Spanish speaker. He later married Betty Ann Batcheller in April 1963 and graduated from Georgia Tech in June 1963 with Army ROTC training and a degree in Industrial Management. From 1964 to 1966, Charles served in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia where his son, K. Eric Wommack was born in March 1965. After his enlistment, Charles, his wife, and son moved to Decatur where his daughter Karen Lee Wommack was born in September 1968. In his career, Charles used his degree in management by working for his alma mater, Georgia Tech, and then owning various businesses. The interests he had throughout his life included organic gardening, cooking, building and woodworking, visiting the Monastery in Conyers, tinkering with Apple computers, staying up-to-date with the news, and watching football. Later in his life, he affirmed his faith and willingly sponsored others on their 12 step spiritual journey.
He is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Betty Ann Batcheller, his son and daughter-in-law, K. Eric Wommack and Jo Rohrman Wommack of Newark, Delaware, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen Wommack Kinnamon and R.
