Charlie Ped Lacy

Mr. Charlie Ped Lacy, age 94, formerly of West Church St. in Sandersville, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Lacey and Rev. Marlon Lastinger will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stewart Pittman, Charles Lee, Chuck Smith, John Brooker Sr., Mike Martin, Harvey Harrison, Drew Page, Bill Wiggins, Lester Godfrey, and Tommy Thompson.

Mr. Lacy was born in Green County the son of the late Claude Hill Lacy and the late Estelle Wagnon Lacy. He was the former co-owner and operator of the Lacy Brothers Building Contractors. Mr. Lacy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville where he served as a former church deacon. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His wife of 72 years, Mildred Knight Lacy, predeceases him.

Survivors are his daughters, Jeanne Lacy West (Wyman) of Sandersville and Debra Lacy Page (Doug) of Grayson, grandchildren, Vicki West Frost (Daryl) of Sandersville and Erin Lea Cone of Watkinsville and great grandchildren Jordan West Frost and Lacy Faith Frost.

The family will be at the West residence on Yank Brown Rd. in Sandersville and they will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
