Charlotte Whittington Troutman passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 31, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born August 19, 1920 in Nashville, Tennessee to Charles and Louise Whittington. Charlotte attended St. Cecilia Academy for girls in Nashville, Tennessee, and later became an active participant in the war effort in Washington, DC. She worked for the IRS and was transferred to Atlanta where she met her husband, Jack Troutman. They resided in Ansley Park for many years. Charlotte was an active member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, and loved her Lord, church, bible study class, tennis, and UGA football.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, two older siblings, and beloved husband, Jack Hughes Troutman. They had four children, Marc W. Troutman of Atlanta, Jac’lyn Willie of Franklin, TN, Anne (Julian) Brown of Atlanta, and Beth (Hank) Williams of Atlanta. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Kimberly and Katie Willie, Maggie, Jack, and Hugh Williams, and Christian Brown, niece Barbara Tregellas, and nephew Tom Whittington, and her wonderful caregiver Sylvia Davis.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov.3 at 2:00 pm at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, the Kellet Chapel, with visitation following. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday in Tennille, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Cecilia Academy or Buckhead Christian Ministries.
