Christine Tyson Amerson

Mrs. Christine Tyson Amerson, age 94, of Tennille died on Friday, May 20, 2016, in the Washington county Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 24th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Burial will be private for family only. Reverend Mark Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Amerson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Arlie Clayton Tyson and the late Sally Mae Byrne Tyson. She was the wife of the late Charlie Raymond Amerson. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Erin Knight, and her siblings, Velma Tompkins, Grace Smith, Eunice Price, Sara Willard, and A. C. Tyson, Jr. Mrs. Amerson was a homemaker and a member of the Tennille Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.

Survivors are: her two daughters, Charlene Amerson Knight of Niceville, Florida, and Kathleen Amerson Hardie and her husband Kerry of Sandersville; four grandchildren, Eric Knight, Todd Knight, Chris Knight and his wife , and Josh Hardie and his wife Kristyn; seven great grandchildren, Erica K. Nelson and her husband Luke, Rachel Knight, Kyle Knight, Grace Knight, Faith Knight, Conner Hardie, and Ryleigh Hardie; and a great-great grandchild, Emma Nelson.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday until the hour of service.
