Christine Tanner Dalton

June 6, 1918 — January 23, 2013

Mrs. Christine Tanner Dalton, age 94, of Jordan Mill Road, Sandersville, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at Sisters Baptist Church with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Andy Yates and Rev. Buford Tanner will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Dalton, Chris Dalton, Louis Dalton, Derrick Dalton, Daryl Dalton, Pete Colson, Mike Yates, Jim Currey, Dan Panfil, Ralph Chandler, George Lord, and Harold Dawson.

Mrs. Dalton was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Willis Tanner and the late Bessie Pearl Josey Tanner. She retired from the Royal Manufacturing Company as an inspector and she was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church. Mrs. Dalton possessed a great love for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is predeceased by her husband Ernest Marion Dalton, Sr.

Survivors are: her children, Rosalyn (G.R.) Lord, Lois (Lyman) Yates, Marion (Betty) Dalton and Barney (Velma) Dalton all of Sandersville; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great- great- grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn T. Love of Macon; and her brother, Rev. Buford (Martha) Tanner of Eastman.

The family will be at the home of Barney and Velma Dalton on Plantation Dr. in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Donations may be made to the Sisters Baptist Church, 1807 E. McCarty Street, Sandersville, GA 31082.
