Mrs. Clarie Beasley Meeks, age 83, of Deepstep died on Sunday, January 17, 2016, in the Heritage Inn in Sandersville following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 20, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Poplar Springs Christian Church Cemetery. Reverend Tripp Hodges and Reverend Paul Harris will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Cody Lindsey, Will Meeks, Collin Hammond, Andy Autry, Tim Franklin, Mark Giles, Anthony Lindsey and Ed Autry.

Mrs. Meeks was a native of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Eddie Beasley and the late Nellie Lee Hughes Meeks. She was the wife of the late Julian T. Meeks and was preceded in death by: a son, William Lee Meeks, a brother, Ed Beasley and a sister, Marie Brooks. She was a licensed practical nurse for Rawlings Nursing Home and the Extended Care Facility. Mrs. Meeks was a member of the Poplar Springs Christian Church.

Survivors are: a son, Ken Meeks and his wife Leslie of Sandersville; a daughter, Judy Meeks Lindsey of Deepstep; four grandchildren, Layla Meeks, Will Meeks, Melissa M. Hammond, and Cody Lindsey; three great grandchildren, Anna Meeks, Luke Meeks, and Piper Hammond; a brother, Earl Beasley and his wife Mary of Avera; and a sister, Margaret Autry of Atlanta.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.

The family suggest donations be made to the Poplar Springs Christian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Redin Hodges, 475 Green Lane, Sandersville, GA 31082.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
