Cleston John "Cles" Kent

July 18, 1974 — September 4, 2013

Cleston John “Cles” Kent, age 39, of E. McCarty St. in Sandersville, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Chad Waller and Robbie Kent will officiate. Pallbearers will be a selected group of the Washington County Golden Hawks Football Team.

Cles was born in Birmingham Alabama and reared in Washington County. He was a proud graduate of the Washington County High School where he remained an avid Hawks fan. Cles spent a large portion of his life working and mentoring children; as a dad, a former youth pastor at the Kaolin Church of God and as a Washington County Recreation Department Coach. Cles worked hard to provide for his family as a transloader operator for B-H Transfer. Cles was a devoted husband and possessed a great love for God, his family and sports. He will be truly missed by so many people he has touched during his lifetime.

Survivors are his wife, Leanne Brindell Kent; children, Jamie Brindell, Austin Kent, Preston Kent and Jeremy Kent; his parents, James and Judy Kent all of Sandersville; his brother, Robbie Kent and his wife Penny of Sandersville; sisters, Christy Caldwell and her husband Rodney, Amey Frazier and her husband Ron all of Sandersville and Tammy Seiter and her husband Charlie of New Braunfels, TX; his mother-in-law, Ann Brindell of Tennille and his father-in-law, Harvey Brindell and his wife Terri of Lincoln, NE; and brothers-in-law, Alec Brindell of Chantilly, VA and Aaron Brindell of Portland, OR.

The family will be at the Kent home on East McCarty Street in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
