Clifford Curtis Dye

October 26, 1927 — May 14, 2016

Mr. Clifford Curtis Dye, age 88, of Hwy 242, Sandersville, died Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Daniel, Colton Lindsey, McGinnis Clark, Cody Cabe, Dillon Frost, and Ryan Dixon.

Mr. Dye was born in Hawkinsville the son of the late Johnnie B. Dye and the late Ruby Mae Grimsley Dye. He spent a 32 year career in the Textile Industry working for J.P. Stevens and retiring with Forstmann’s. Mr. Dye was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and he was a US Veteran serving in the Navy. His wife, Helen Sanders Dye, daughter Tammy Dye Kelly and grandson-in-law D.J. Davis all predecease Mr. Dye.

Survivors are: children, Jimmy Curtis Dye of Tennille and Curtis B. Smith and his wife Misty of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Jason Curtis Dye and his wife Kelli of Harrison, Joshua Caleb Dye and his wife Brittany of Boynton Beach, FL, Raven Davis, and Dylan Kelly both of Sandersville, and Kelsey and Hunter Smith of Milledgeville; great grandchildren, Justin Cody Dye, Grace Alexis Dye, Phillip Asher Dye and Daniel Albert Davis III; his son-in-law Scott Kelly; and his sister-in-law Ruby Lord both of Tennille.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
