Funeral services for Constance Shiver “Connie” Butler, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Rick Turner will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Butler passed away at Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, January 9, 2014.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Andrews, Jr., Doc Elliott, Craig Lee, Charles Manny, T. J. Massey, John White, Bobby Willis and Andy Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be the Choir Members of the First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship-Aldersgate Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Butler was born on August 4, 1933, in Cairo, GA, to the late Warner Dekle Shiver and Lucile Willis Shiver. On October 31, 1965, she married Raymond Butler, who survives. She retired as a manager with Envision Credit Union. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cairo, GA.
Survivors include: husband, Raymond Butler of Cairo, GA; daughters, Cindy Kasten (David) of Cairo, GA, Linda Butler of Tallahassee, FL; son, Ray Butler of Sanford, NC; sister, Carol Andrews (Gerald) of Sandersville, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Butler's memory to: the Choir Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 318 South Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828; or a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
