Mrs. Connie Lanthrip Usry, 73 of Archer Road in Sandersville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Kendall Heights Church of God in Sandersville with Reverend Bobby Williford officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Usry was born in Sandersville, the daughter of the late Marlie J. Lanthrip, Sr. and Mattie Lizzie Sellars Lanthrip. She spent her working career at Oconee Fall Line Technical College, working in the Admission’s Office until her retirement. Connie was a very talented lady, she painted sweatshirts and shirts, and was also gifted at sewing. She also enjoyed coloring on her tablet, watching Hallmark Movies, Westerns and Fox News, the latter which she enjoyed discussing with her son. Connie was also a dedicated and faithful member of Kendall Heights Church of God, where she taught Sunday School, Girl’s Club, and ministered in song for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Usry; brother, Larry J. Lanthrip; and sisters, Dale Davis, Pat Baucom, and Betty Williford.
Mrs. Usry is survived by her son, Richard Usry and his wife Tammy; granddaughter, Colleen Usry; god granddaughters, BryLeigh Smith and Paisley Davis; sister, Elaine Lanthrip; brother, Snooty Lanthrip and his wife Tina, all of Sandersville; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends.
