Crystal Williford Thompson

Crystal Williford Thompson, age 73, of Sandersville, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at her residence.   A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m., at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville, with burial in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Edgehill, Glascock County.  Reverend Chris Williford will officiate.  Pallbearer’s will be Frank Williford, Elvin Williford, Jerry Williford, Alfonso De Los Santos, Seth Sumner and D.J. Tapley.  Crystal's family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.

Crystal was born in Louisville and reared in Edgehill and Gibson.  She was the daughter of the late Edison Williford and the late Sadie Walden Williford.  Following school, Crystal began a lifelong career as a seamstress, beginning her work with the William Carter Company and ending with Crown Textile.  She attended the Kendall Heights Church of God and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society.  Crystal loved fishing and being outdoors.  She also loved animals and was known as a crafty person, being able to fix almost anything.  Most of all, she cherished being with family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Crystal is also predeceased by siblings, Elaine Williford, Glenn Williford and Wilbur Kenny Williford.

Survivors include her sons, Travis Williford and his wife Angel and B.J. Thompson and his wife Holly, all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Austin Williford and his fiancé Harlee, Chase Williford, Blair De Los Santos and her husband Alfonso, Ella Thompson and Madison Williford; and siblings, Rachel Godowns, Frank Williford, Elvin Williford and Jerry Williford.
