Ms. Cynthia P. Brown, age 60, of Gibson, passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 1:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Scott Ferguson will officiate. Her family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Cynthia was reared in Milledgeville and Toomsboro, by the late Joe Ben Fordham and the late Bronnie Horton Fordham. She married early in life and began raising her family. Cynthia's working career started in the textile industry with Forstmann Manufacturing. She later transitioned to patient care for Toomsboro Nursing Home, prior to working in food service, at the Wilkinson School Cafeteria. Lastly, Cynthia worked in housekeeping, for hotels and private individuals. She loved to fish and cook for family and friends. Above all, Cynthia cherished time spent with her grandchildren and considered that her greatest joy.
Survivors include her children, Michael Brown and his wife Jessica of Dublin, Christy Haywood and her husband Jason of Gibson, and Avery Brown of Irwinton; grandchildren, Trinity Selby, Emily Brown, Hunter Selby, Cody Brown, Hannah Taylor and Summer Taylor; and siblings, Linda Eley, Deborah Harvey and her husband Alton, Tamara Pope and Darian Fordham and his wife Sarah.
