Daniel Wade Brantley

Mr. Daniel Wade Brantley, age 77, of Oconee, died on Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 12, at Antioch Christian Church in Oconee with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Tom Howard will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hodges, Herbert Hodges, Gene Sheppard, William Sheppard, David Brantley, Darrell Brantley, George Garbutt Sr., Wayne Sheppard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board members of the Antioch Christian Church and the Mayor, City Clerk and Council members of the City of Oconee.

Mr. Brantley was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Ernest Washington Brantley and the late Benita Kate McCoy Brantley. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamerson Wade Brantley and a brother, Lamar "Cooter" Brantley. Mr. Brantley was a graduate of Tennille High School. He was a retired mechanic with Blanchard Equipment Company. Mr. Brantley was a former Mayor of the City of Oconee. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors are; his wife, Janis Forehand Brantley of Oconee; son, Clayton Harvey Brantley and his wife Amy of Tennille; two grandchildren, Gracie Brantley and Drew Brantley; sister, Dorothy Jean Jones of Sandersville; two brothers, Howard Brantley and his wife Ronnie of Oconee and Roy Brantley and his wife Sue of Oconee.

The family suggest donations be made to the Antioch Christian Church, P. O. Box 40, Oconee, Georgia 31067.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday.
