Daniel Gordon Mcpherson

Daniel Gordon McPherson, age 63 of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was born July 28, 1952 in Bremen, Georgia to the late Lewis McPherson and Martha Emily Gordon McPherson. He graduated from Bremen High School in1971 and from the University of West Georgia in 1975. He received a Masters of Divinity degree from the Southern Seminary in 1979.

He served on staff at Tabernacle Baptist Church of Carrollton, Lindale First Baptist Church, and Brunswick First Baptist Church. He was Pastor at Liberty Baptist Church of Leitchfield, Kentucky and First Baptist Church of Pearson, Georgia. For 17 years, he served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Sandersville in Sandersville, Ga. He served as the Care Giving Pastor at Midway Church in Carrollton for over 11 years and was recently named Pastor Emeritus. For over 42 years he faithfully served Christ in ministry.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jan Walker McPherson of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah and Charlie Griffis of Perry, GA; son and daughter-in-law, James Jim and Beth McPherson of Carrollton; sister, Kay McPherson of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Jewel McPherson of Bremen, GA; and five grandchildren, Wilson Griffis, Martha Griffis, Margaret Griffis, Rosemary Griffis, and Lily McPherson.

Memorial service will be conducted Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Midway Church with Reverend Keith Moore, Reverend Alan Posey, and Reverend Todd Wright officiating. Inurnment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Reverend Keith Moore and Reverend Glenn Dyer performing graveside service.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Midway Church for the Lifeline Mission Center. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family atwww.martin-hightower.com.
