Mr. Daniel Ray Morris, age 55, of Warthen, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his residence. A family only graveside funeral service will be held at Pinehill Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Stan Littleton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., using socially distancing practices, at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
Daniel was born in Atlanta and reared in Forest Park the son of the late William Ray Morris and the late Thelma Folsom Morris. He graduated from Forest Park High School and at the age of 18 began a 37-year working career with Georgia Power where he was currently employed as a project supervisor in switchboard construction. Daniel formerly resided in Barnesville and Forsyth prior to moving the Washington County to be near family. He was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and operating his tractor. Daniel loved watching football and was an avid FSU and Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, Daniel is also predeceased by his sister Denise Morris Spangenberger.
Survivors include, his children, Amanda Morris Davis and her husband Chad of Warthen and Jacob Ray Morris and his wife Kelsey of Boling Broke, grandchildren, Ady Davis, Haylee Davis, Mae Davis, Chip Davis, and Raelynn Morris and siblings William Sydney Morris of Greensboro, Teresa Morris Donaldson and her husband Randy of Madison MS., and James Dewitt Morris and his wife Terri of Mansfield.
