Daphene Irene Martin

Mrs. Daphene Irene Martin, age 80, of Sandersville, passed away on November 2, 2020 at an Augusta hospital. A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 2:00P.M. at Kendall Heights Church of God in Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.  Reverend Bobby Williford and Reverend Quint Shepherd will officiate. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Daphene was born in Tennille, to the late Dewis Hartley and Irene Johnson Thompson. She was a great woman of faith and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She never missed an opportunity to make others laugh or offer them a word of prayer. She served many families in Washington County as a caregiver to their loved ones in times of sickness. Daphene is predeceased by her husbands, Hilton Williford and Murphy Eugene Martin; her son, Keith Williford; and her brothers, Charles Hartley and Franklin Hartley. She was a faithful member of Kendall Heights Church of God.

Daphene is survived by her daughters, Debra Shepherd (Quint) and Sheri Haynes (Rodney) both of Sandersville; a son, Ken Williford (Teresa) of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Helen Williford of Sandersville; Grandchildren Maureen Price (Matt), Brent Williford, Craig Williford, Jonathan Shepherd (April), Haley Underwood (Jay), Hope Head (Kevin), Chloe Hunsucker (Zack), Cole Williford (Scarlett), Austin Williford, Jade Williford, and Holly Haynes; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Shelia Bohannon of Sandersville; and a brother, Rocky Hartley of Toomsboro.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the church from 12:30P.M. until the hour of service. The family request that all those who attend the visitation and/or service please practice social distancing. It is also suggested that facial masks be worn.
