David Anthony Brooks

Milledgeville

David Anthony Brooks, age 71, passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2025, at home with family. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday March 15th from 1pm-4pm, Lake Franklin 647 Veal Road Deepstep, GA 31082.

Dave, as most called him, enjoyed the outdoors and spent time hunting, fishing and canoeing. He enjoyed cooking, boiling peanuts and had a love for music, family and friends.

David was born in Milledgeville Georgia on March 5, 1953, to the late Cohen Lewis Brooks and Margie Waits Brooks Badger. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Brooks Josey. He retired from Imerys, where he worked as a lab technician. David was a member of Black Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Gail Brooks of Milledgeville; a son, Jason Brooks (Monica); a daughter, Jamie Gray (Brian) of Milledgeville; a brother Tommy Brooks (Linda) of Newnan and a sister Judy Akin (Lew) of Lebanon TN. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Ansley Brooks, Cohen Brooks, and Jackson Gray. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

Dave also had a love of animals and helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Baldwin County Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1425 Milledgeville Ga 31059 or the Baldwin County Animal Services located at 1395 Orchard Hill Road in Milledgeville.

Moore's Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
