David Dewayne Evans

May 26, 1964 — June 21, 2019

Mr. David DeWayne Evans, age 55, of Sandersville died on Friday, June 21, 2019 in an Augusta hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 25 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville, with burial at Davisboro Cemetery.  Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Ron Dixon will officiate.  Pallbearers will be; David Harris, Jay Brown, Ben Williams, Al Alligood, Curtis Page, Clifford Yorker and Darien Moye.

Mr. Evans was a native of Ben Hill County, Georgia, the son of the late David Linder Evans.  He was a graduate of Brentwood School in the class of 1982.  Mr. Evans had been a parts manager for NAPA Auto Parts and was a retired purchasing agent for B.H. Transfer.  He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors are: his wife, Gloria McNeely Evans of Sandersville; three sons, Matthew Evans, Wesley Evans, and Dawson Evans all of Sandersville; his mother, Mary Barlow Merck; his step mother, Judy Evans of Sandersville;  four sisters, Laura Adams and her husband Doug of Jefferson, Allie Harper and her husband Ed of Sandersville, Jessica McDonald and her husband Don of Mesa Arizona and Lily Evans of Milledgeville; a brother, Jody Evans of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
