David Franklin Hawkins

Mr. David Franklin Hawkins, age 45, of Sandersville died Thursday August 5 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 8 in the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen. The Rev. Tim Powell and Rev. M. D. Cabe will officiate with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.

Mr. Hawkins was a native and life long resident of Washington County. He was a graduate of the Brentwood School and South Georgia Technical College. Mr. Hawkins was a home security technician with Building System Technology, Inc. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and friend.

Survivors are his wife, Marcia Jones Hawkins, his children, Kristi Hawkins of Augusta, Stephen Hawkins and Matthew Hawkins of Sandersville, a grandchild, Kayleigh Hawkins, his mother and father, Franklin Hawkins and Fannie Bell Watkins Hawkins of Sandersville, a sister, Sharon Leigh Hawkins Lewis and her husband Tony of Warthen, a brother, Glenn Hawkins and his wife Jennifer of Warthen, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jessica and Trista Lankford.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday. The family suggests that donations be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church, P. O Box 85, Warthen, Georgia 31094 or Brentwood School, P. O. Box 955, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
