David Calvin Stovall

David Calvin Stovall passed away on November 5, 2024, at his home in Bassett, Virginia after a lengthy illness.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Davis Stovall; daughters, Angela S Whorley of Bassett and Joanna Stovall of the residence; son, Todd David Stovall of Palmyra, Virginia; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

David retired from DuPont after 33 years during which he held management positions in Martinsville, Virginia, Athens, Georgia, and Isfahan Iran.

David was a member of the Board of Directors of the Henry County Public Service Authority for 31 years. For many years he was active in politics and a member of the Henry County Democratic Party. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

A memorial service was held at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett on December 22, 2024.

David was a whole body donor to Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Interment of ashes will be at New Hope Church on Heards Bridge Road, Davisboro on September 18, 2026, with Reverend Richard Moye officiating.
