Mrs. Dean Archer McNeely, age 80, of Buckeye Road in Tennille died on Wednesday night March 11 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday March 15 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Bishop Dwight Irons will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Kitchens, Lynn Archer, Joel Jones, Aaron Archer, Travis Archer, Glen Archer, Josh Archer, Earl Brantley, Chuck Woodall, Don Johnson, Harlon Archer, and Jeremy Norton.
Mrs. McNeely was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Grover Mitchell Archer and the late Mildred Tanner Archer. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. McNeely. Mrs. McNeely was preceded in death by her son, Kim McNeely. She was the owner and operator of the Hungry Hunter in Tennille for many years. She loved gardening and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
Survivors are her grandchildren, Brian McNeely and his wife Caroline of Marietta, Anna McNeely Sewell and her husband Joe of Hartwell and Carla McNeely Poole and her husband Steve of Sandersville; and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 3:00 P.M. on Sunday until the hour of service.
