Dee Anne Bray Joiner

Mrs. Dee Anne Bray Joiner, age 76, of Cumming, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at her residence. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 4:00 p.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Johnson County with burial in the Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville.

Pallbearers will be Breck Johnston, Lee Cates, Tom Hutcheson, Bray Hutcheson, Nathan Pool, Caleb Pool, Jacob Pool, Mell Robinson and Mal Bray.

The family will greet friends at the church prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Joiner was a native of Johnson County the daughter of the late Dr. Herschel B. Bray and the late Mary Edna Jennings Bray, and sister of the late Herschel Bray. For much of her childhood, Dee Anne was raised by her Aunt who also predeceases her, Geneva Bray. Mrs. Joiner was retired from the Civil Service at the Marine Logistics Base in Albany and in retirement worked with Orange, a Christian non-profit. She was a lifelong volunteer in the church working with youth and often holding weekly Bible studies in her home. She attended the North Point Community Church. One her greatest passions was her family, especially spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors are: her husband, Rufus R. Joiner of Cumming; her sons, Reggie Joiner and his wife Debbie of Cumming, and Jimmy Joiner and his wife LaShelle of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Reggie Paul Joiner and his wife Krista, Hannah Joiner Crosby and her husband Trip, Sarah Joiner, Rebekah Joiner, Madison Joiner, Carmen Joiner and Morgan Joiner; her great granddaughter, Abigail DeeAnne Joiner; and her sister Mary Frances Bray of Augusta. Dee fought a long hard battle with lung cancer.
