Mrs. Delcie K. Everett, age 74, of Tennille, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 surrounded by family. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Tennille Baptist Church with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Brian Welch will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brandon Kennedy, Keith Thompson, David Everett, Rogers Anderson, Phil Brown III, Jimmy Lewis and Alan Amerson. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Everett was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Joseph Harris Kennedy Sr. and the late Dorothy Anderson Kennedy. She graduated from Washington County High School in 1965 and at the age of 19 began a 47-year career in banking. Delcie was a faithful employee of the George D. Warthen Bank until retiring in 2015 as loan operations manager. She was known to many by her additional work career at Harveys. Delcie began working at Food Lion in 1994 and continued until her health forced her to stop in 2019. She was an extremely hard worker and took pride in her yard at home. Gardening, working in her flower beds, mowing grass and maintaining her pool were all of Delcie's favorite things to do. She was a longtime member of Tennille Baptist Church where she formerly taught Sunday School, served as church treasurer and as a trustee., Delcie is predeceased by her husband, William Ronald Everett, and her brother, Joseph Harris Kennedy III.
Survivors include her children, Whitney Ann Raley and her husband Frank of Davisboro, Garyth Everett and his wife Karen, and Drew Everett all of Tennille; grandchildren, Brittany Chandler, Chelsey Lewis, Casey Everett, Kara Delcie Veal, Carson Everett, and Mallory Everett; great grandsons, Fowler Lewis, Carter Veal and Hudson Lewis; and her brother, Derek Kennedy and his wife Annette of Tennille, and her sister-in-law Patricia Sweat (Ronnie) of Swainsboro, GA.
