Dennis Lambert Segars

Mr. Dennis Lambert Segars, age 79, of 325 Fourth Street in Tennille died Monday, April 5, in the Veterans Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 9, at the Tennille Baptist Church in Tennille with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Darell Young will officiate.

Mr. Segars was a native of Franklin County, Georgia, the son of the late Dennis Freeman Segars and the late Edwina Fricks Segars Hedden. He was the owner of Segars Construction Company. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Segars was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church, the Al Sihah Shrine Temple, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Tennille Masonic Lodge # 256 in Tennille. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Allen Segars and his two brothers, Don Segars and James Segars.

Survivors are his wife, Beuna Payne Segars of Tennille, two daughters Becky Segars Reynolds(Charles) of Harrison and Vicki Segars Lake of Palatka, Florida, eight grandchildren, Allena Beall (Lee) of San Marcos, Texas, Lawren Pagan (Jimmy) of Harrison, Leigh Anna Reynolds, Nathaniel Harrack, Nicolas Lake, Christopher Lake, Timothy Lake and Charlize Reynolds, four great grandchildren, Cade Beall, Chloe Beall, Aidan Beall and Preston Pagan, two sisters, Carolyn Ayers of Hartwell and Sandra Schumann (Tommy) of Hepzibah, and a brother, Richard Segars (Donna Faye) of Milledgeville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
