Rev. Dewey Ray Henderson, Sr.

Funeral Services for Rev. Dewey Ray Henderson, Sr., 81, who entered into rest October 25, 2024, will be conducted Monday afternoon, October 28th, at 2 o’clock at White Oak Church with Rev. Greg Usry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30 pm until the hour of the service.

Rev. Henderson was born April 1, 1943, to the late George L. Henderson and Anna Lucille Saunders Henderson. He was raised in Louisville, GA, having made Sandersville, GA his home for 58 years. Rev. Henderson was a proud U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served as pastor of White Oak Church for 40 years. For eight years, Rev. Henderson owned and operated Henderson and Daniel Heating and Air with his longtime friend and business partner, Horace Daniel. He had a jovial personality, enjoyed a good laugh, loved people, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Rev. Henderson’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and sharing the word of God. He came to know the Lord in 1973 and lived for the Lord the rest of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Henderson; two siblings, George Emory Henderson and Lucille “Lou” Fordham. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his children, Sandy Brantley, Susan Glover (Jody), Ray Henderson Jr. (Heather), and Julie Palmer (Derek); his grandchildren, John Brantley (Ashley), Brittany Morgan (Troy), Thomas Glover (Alexandra), Katie Segura (Armendo), Hunter Caudle, Anna Marie Videtto (Michael), and Emily Palmer; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Usry, Josh Usry, Thomas Glover, John Brantley, Armendo Segura, Wes Goodwin, and Hunter Caudle.
