Dewey "Eddie" Wilson

February 4, 1955 — July 2, 2020

Mr. Dewey Edward “Eddie” Wilson, age 65, of Sandersville, died Thursday, July 2, 2020 following an extended illness.  A memorial service celebrating Eddie’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 8 th at 11:00 a.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.  The family will receive friends form 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Wilson was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Donald R. Wilson and the late Florene Oliver Wilson.  He served his country in the U.S. Army prior to returning to Washington County where he worked for Vickery Ambulance Service and Mayo Funeral Home.  Eddie began a career in the Kaolin Industry working for Engelhard Corp.  Later in life, he worked in the Auto Parts Industry.  Eddie was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and more than anything, loved being a grandfather. He is predeceased by his brother, Larry Wilson.

Survivors include his children, Elizabeth W. Youngblood and her husband Casey of Fort Bragg, NC., and Donald H. Wilson and his wife Cassie of Gainesville; grandchildren, Trey Youngblood, Ava Youngblood, Christiana Wilson and Donald R. Wilson and siblings, Johnny Wilson, Virginia Wilson, Billy Wilson and Wanda Wilson.
