Donald Edward Lindsey, age 74, of Old Savannah Road, Sandersville, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, following an extended illness. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson Baptist Church in Sandersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Charlie Lindsey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chase Lindsey, Jake Foskey, Bobby Freeman, Steve Lindsey, Bill Lindsey, Howard Veal, and Dean Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Zipperer, Gene Ogelsby, Stan Johnson. Visitation will be private.
Don was born March 14, 1951, to Eileen Wiggins Lindsey and James Edward Lindsey of Sandersville. He graduated from Washington County High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973. He worked for various kaolin companies until his health failed in 2004. Don has been a member of Jackson Baptist Church since childhood, where he served as a Deacon and Song Leader. He loved his church, and he loved the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching westerns on TV and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Don is predeceased by brothers-in-law, Paul Bryan of Sandersville and Tom Davis of Warthen.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gloria Davis Lindsey of Sandersville; children, Jamie Lindsey (Crissy) of Sandersville, Pamela Lindsey Foskey (Chad) of Gray, and Charlie Lindsey (Regina) of Sandersville; grandchildren, Hannah Lindsey, Chase Lindsey, and Taylor Lindsey of Sandersville and Jake Foskey of Gray; Ashley Claxton (Jen), Andrew Claxton (Allyson), and Heather Creech (Troy); great-grandchildren Stephen Claxton, Ryleigh Claxton, Addy Claxton, and A. J. Claxton; sister, Debra Bryan (David Lindsey) of Sandersville; brother-in-law, Dean Davis (Mary Gail) of Warthen; sister-in-law, Eloise Davis of Sandersville; aunts, Barbara Wiggins, Annette Lindsey, and Jackie Lindsey; and several nieces, and nephews.
