Donald "Donnie" Rex Smith

Mr. Donald “Donnie” Rex Smith, age 52, of 8673 Highway 242 in Riddleville died Thursday, July 14, 2011, in the Serenity Hospice in Dublin following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 17th, in the Riddleville Baptist Church with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Lindsey, Stacy Everett, Brian Moncus, Brad Moncus, Kevin Welch, Chris Smith and Tristan Smith.

Mr. Smith was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Donald Kendall Smith and the late Dorothy Johnson Smith. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Dianne Smith. Mr. Smith was a carpenter. He was a member of the Riddleville Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Dianne Flynn Smith of Riddleville, a daughter, Erica Smith Welch and her husband Kevin of Griffin, a son, Rex Smith and his wife Heather of Tennille, seven grandchildren, Eric Smith, Corey Welch, Kendall Smith, Morgan Smith, Dustin Welch, Maddox Glenn and Madyson Smith, four sisters, Barbara Bailey of Milledgeville, Linda Lindsey and Eileen Moncus both of Riddleville and Dot Bailey of Dublin, a brother, Jimmy Smith of Riddleville.

The family will receive friends at May and smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
