Donald Kendall Smith

December 24, 1929 — June 1, 2008

Mr. Donald Kendall Smith, age 78, of Riddleville, died Sunday, June 01, 2008 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4th at 3:00pm at the Riddleville Baptist Church with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. Rev. Bill Jones and Rev. Wade Dawson will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bill Bailey, Justin Bailey, Chris Smith, Robert Bailey, Brandon Lindsey, Rex Smith, Scott Bailey, Brad Moncus, and Brian Moncus.

Mr. Smith was born in Washington County the son of the late Solomon Watson Smith Sr. and the late Anna Mae Kendall Smith. He was retired as a general contractor and a farmer. Mr. Smith was a long time member of the Riddleville Baptist Church as well as a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge # 207. He was a 32nd degree mason, past master of the Davisboro Lodge #488 and emeritus member of the Hamilton Lodge #58. Mr. Smith was also a member of the Al Sihah Shrine Temple. He is predeceased by a daughter Patsy Dianne Smith.

Survivors are his wife Dorothy Johnson Smith of Riddleville, children, Jimmy K. Smith (Carol) of Riddleville, Barbara S. Bailey of Milledgeville, Linda S. Lindsey of Riddleville, Dorothy S. Bailey (William) of Gray, Donald Rex Smith (Dianne) of Statesboro and Eileen S. Moncus of Riddleville, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and his sister Reba Allison of Harrison.

This family will be at the Smith residence 8673 Hwy. 242 Riddleville and will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home 1119 Riddleville Rd. Sandersville.
