Donald Merrill Stone

Mr. Donald Merrill Stone, age 75, of Warthen, died on Sunday, June 24, 2018, in an Atlanta hospital following a brief illness. A memorial service for Mr. Stone will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 27 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville.  Reverend Tim Powell will officiate.

Mr. Stone was a native of Erin, Tennessee.  He had lived in Warthen for the past few years.  He was a retired credit manager.  Mr. Stone was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sonja Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Thompson Stone of Warthen; sons, Jay Stone and his wife Beth of Goshen, KY, and David Stone of Los Angeles; daughter, Heather Stone Halbeck and her husband Tim of Wartrace, TN; three grandchildren, Wesley Stone, Hannah Booth and Hailey Booth.

The family suggests that donations be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, P. O. Box 85, Warthen, Georgia 31094.
