Donna Byrnes Martin

Mrs. Donna Byrnes Martin, age 51, of Tennille, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at her residence. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18th, at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Wallace Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stevie Martin, Jr., Thomas Smith, Ellis Martin, Terry O’quin, Raymond Pounds, Christopher Covington and Tim Shaw.

Donna was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Walter Emory Byrnes and the late Mildred Wynell Griswell Byrnes. She worked for Jet Food Stores as a store clerk. Donna was often known for helping others in their time of need.

Survivors are: her husband, Tony M. Martin of Tennille; children, Julie Rubert Bridges of Sandersville and Reagan Sanner of Tennille; grandchildren, Kierra Jordan, Sierra Jordan, Andrew Jordan, Kayla Bridges and J’Nia Bridges; and her sister, Barbara B. Avant of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
