Mrs. Donna Jean Thomas Jackson age 76, of Brandon, Florida passed away in her sleep on Sunday, October 24, 2021. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Florida. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Riddleville, Georgia with Reverend M.D. Cabe officiating.
Mrs. Jackson was born on September 11, 1945 in Tampa, Florida, to the late Marvin and Nona Thomas. Mrs. Jackson spent her entire life in the Tampa area and had many lifelong friends. Mrs. Jackson met a young Airman, James Herman (JH) Jackson, Jr., who was stationed at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, Florida and they were married after a short courtship. They were truly a special couple who never wavered in their love for each other. She was a very devoted wife and mother while being fiercely protective of her family and friends. Mrs. Jackson retired from the Coca Cola Company in Tampa. Mrs. Jackson was a very special person who loved to gather with friends and family. She loved to laugh and loved to have those in her company laugh along with her. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her brother Bennie Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, James Herman (JH) Jackson, Jr., of Brandon, Florida; son, James Allen Jackson of Brandon, Florida; brother, Mike Thomas (Linda) of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Sharon Bowman (Jerry) of Pell City, Alabama; nephew, Evan Thomas of Brandon, Florida; niece, Tammy Thomas-Katrein(Keith) of Brandon, FL; nephew, Bennie Thomas, of Brandon, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Jackson; Wayne and Sandra Jackson; Henry and Joy Jackson all of Riddleville, Georgia and Bruce and Edie Jackson of Sandersville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021, after the graveside service at 11:00 A.M. in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o New Bethel Baptist Church, 1829 New Bethel Road, Bartow, Georgia 30413.
