Doris Bridges Renfroe Dixon

Mrs. Doris Bridges Renfroe Dixon, age 91 of Tennille, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eddie Wiggins officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends on Monday, from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Cochran, one of 9 children to the late Herbert Eugene Bridges, Sr. and Clemmie Lord Bridges. She was a beautician as well as an accountant, running her own salon and tax service. Mrs. Dixon was a hard and diligent worker, working until she was physically no longer able. She was a member of Tennille Baptist Church and Tennille Women’s Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Cohen Renfroe, and Ernest Dixon; and her daughters, Alene Renfroe Brownlee and Dianne Renfroe.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her granddaughters, Amanda Rhodes (Cody) of Marietta and Tracey Black of Greensboro, NC; 3 great grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
