Doris S. Durden

Mrs. Doris S. Durden, age 95, of Milledgeville, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Macon. Funeral services for Mrs. Durden will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 19 at Union Baptist Church near Warthen with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Robert Cash and Reverend Roy Smith will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Travis Shelton, Caleb Brown, Chris Vaden, Steve West, Stuart Turner and Mac Atchison.

Mrs. Durden was a native of Washington County, Georgia but had lived in Milledgeville for many years.  She was the daughter of the late William Ray Shelton and the late Jessie Lewis Shelton.  She was the wife of the late C. J. Durden. Mrs. Durden was a retired care giver with Central State Hospital in Milledgeville.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors are a sister, Margaret Shelton of Milledgeville; nieces, Ola Mae Tucker of Macon, Julia Ratliff of Gray, Elaine Shurling of Tennille, Priscilla Shelton of Linton, Stephanie Shelton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Beverly Shelton of Warthen; nephew, Travis Shelton of New Orleans.

The family will receive friends at Union Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. on Thursday until the hour of service.
