Mrs. Doris Burgamy Ennis, age 92, of Big Woods Road in Mitchell died Wednesday morning May 28, 2014 at the residence of her daughter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 30th, in the Pine Hill United Methodist Church near Warthen. The Reverend Don Black will officiate with burial in the Pine Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Burgamy, Cliff Johnson, Gerald Coleman, Jimmy Burgamy, Edward Burgamy, Melvin Burgamy, Johnny Collins, Jerry Walden, Andy Walden, Len Burgamy, Chris Burgamy and Joey Burgamy.
Mrs. Ennis was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Joe Hunter Burgamy and the late Lily May Burgamy. She was the wife of the late Felton Lamar Ennis. Mrs. Ennis was a retired seamstress with the Carters Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.
Survivors are her daughter, Gail E. Wilkerson of Mitchell; her son, Dean Ennis and his wife Sabrina of Sandersville; three grandchildren, Heather Herring and her husband Mike, Charlton Boyd and Tammy Cheely and her husband Robert; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Herring and Bella Herring; two sisters, Faye B. Coleman and her husband Ernest of Milledgeville and Betty B. Johnson and her husband Tom of Milledgeville; a brother, Dean Leonard Burgamy and his wife Rhonda of Sparta.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
