Doris Lord Jackson

Mrs. Doris Lord Jackson, age 89, of Riddleville died Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 in the Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13th, at 11:00 A.M. in the New Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the New Bethel Church Cemetery. The Reverend James Veal will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charles Jackson, Robert Jackson, Richard Jackson, Donnie Jackson, Jay Jackson, William Garrett III, Monte Garrett, Michael Garrett, Stephen Lord and Clay Lord.

Mrs. Jackson was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Owen C. Lord, Sr. and the late Annie Harrell Lord. She was the wife of the late Olin Jasper Jackson and was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a retired program assistant for United States Agriculture Department. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors are her son, Olin Ronald Jackson and his wife Emilee of Riddleville; three grandchildren, Dana Jackson Brown, Jason Ronald Jackson and Kecia Jackson Jones; four step-grandchildren, Tracy A. Giddens, Wendy Giddens Williams, Lisa Giddens McDonald and Joseph C. Giddens; fourteen great- grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Faye A. Lord of Tennille.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.

The family suggests donations be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3497 New Bethel Church Road, Bartow, Georgia 30413.
