Mrs. Doris Haywood Lindsey, age 78, of 55 East Lake Court in Sandersville died Monday morning September 20 in the Heritage Inn of Sandersville following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday September 23 in the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville. The Rev. Jim Dunn, Rev. Everett Foskey, Rev. Dr. Roy Rogers and Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.
Mrs. Lindsey was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Wesley Haywood and the late Bridget Bailey Foskey. She was an office manager for a garment manufacturing company for over 25 years before her retirement. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Lindsey was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was very active in all areas and missions of the local church and the district work. She was predeceased by a son, Brian Alan Lindsey.
Survivors are her husband, Emory Lindsey of Sandersville, three children, Bruce Earl Lindsey and his wife Vickie of Dublin, two daughters, Bonnie Lindsey Hitchcock and her husband David of Sandersville and Beverli Lindsey Horton and her husband Floyd of Sandersville, six grandchildren, Jeremy Lindsey, Jennifer Lindsey Bryant, Cristy Hitchcock Grant, Chad Hitchcock, Sam Horton, and Sarah Horton, two great grandchildren, Parker Bryant and Caleb Bryant, three sisters, Kathryn H. Soles of Scott, Sarah H. Kaney of North Augusta and Juanita H. Soles of Scott, two brothers, Rev. Ralph Haywood of North Augusta and Robert Haywood of Tennille.

The family will receive friends at the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
