Mrs. Doris Summerour Patrick, age 89, of Tennille, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Loganville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at the Tennille United Methodist Church. Graveside committal services will be held at 4:00pm at the Spalding County Union Cemetery in Spalding County. Rev. Jeff Cook and Rev. Davis Chappell will officiate.
Mrs. Patrick was born in Barrow County the daughter of the late Johan Nathan Summerour and the late Bertie Etheridge Summerour. She was a homemaker and a former secretary and nurse’s aide at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Mrs. Patrick was a founding member and first president of the Pink Lady Auxiliary at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. She was a lifelong Methodist and a member of the Tennille United Methodist Church where she served her church in numerous capacities. She was a longtime children’s Sunday school teacher and member and past president of the United Methodist Women and the Erin Holder Smith Circle. Mrs. Patrick was also a member and past president of both the Tennille Women’s Club and the Tennille Fine Arts Club. She is predeceased by her husband Marion Patrick.
Survivors are; her sons, Robert M. Patrick (Jacqueline) of Snellville and Raymond L. Patrick (Susan) of Loganville, grandchildren, Lynn P. Watson (Shane) of Locust Grove, Lee Patrick (Wanda) of Cumming, Emily P. Culvertson (Nathan) and Warren Patrick both of Loganville, great grandchildren, Riley Patrick, Sean Watson, Alyssa Watson, Luke Culvertson, and Elizabeth Culvertson, her sister, Lou Sims of Conyers and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
