Mrs. Dorothy Louise Yancey Clanahan, age 80, of 525 Transylvania Drive in Sandersville died Thursday morning October 2 in the University Hospital in Augusta following a brief illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 5 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Ridge Road in Sandersville. Mr. Jamie Carrington will officiate.

Mrs. Clanahan was a native of Herrin Illinois, the daughter of the late Willis Austin Yancey and the late Ada Vada Peterson Yancey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

Survivors are her husband, Richard Lloyd Clanahan of Sandersville, her children, Gary Allen Clanahan of South Hampton, N.Y., Gregory Lynn Clanahan of Sandersville, Rebecca Ann Clanahan Brantley of Sandersville and Pamela Dee Clanahan Banks of Cullman, Ala, a sister, Lois Dascotte of Ashville, N.C. , a brother, Royal Yancey of Herrin, Il., twelve grandchildren, Zachary Todd Clanahan, Melissa Clanahan, Candace Clanahan, Ashley Lynn Clanahan Tate, Jacob Dale McNutt, Levi Tyson Lape, Austin Warren Lape, Katie Erin Lape, Mason Cecil McFalls, Joshua Thurman McFalls, Nacolle Ashley Roberts Wilder and Abigial Christoanna Banks, five great grandchildren, Alexia Jane Tate, Makyla Nicole Stombaugh, Hanna Elizabeth Mcnutt, Chloe Adison McNutt and Tyson Charles Lape.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 525 Transylvania Drive, Sandersville.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
