Dorothy Anderson Kennedy

Mrs. Dorothy Anderson Kennedy, age 93, of Tennille, died Thursday, October 20, 2016. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Garyth Everett, Casey Everett, Carson Everett, Brandon Kennedy, Frank Raley and Keith Thompson.

Mrs. Kennedy was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the daughter of the late Ransom Ivey Anderson and the late Mary Sallie Whidden Anderson. She formerly worked for Millers Food Store and she was retired in 1992 from the Washington EMC with over fifty years of service. After retirement, Mrs. Kennedy worked as a care giver to those needing care in their home. She was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church and loved hosting her family in her home. Her husband Joseph Harris Kennedy Jr. and son Joseph Harris Kennedy III both predecease her.

She is survived by, her children, Delcie K. Everett and Derek Stacer Kennedy and his wife Annette all of Tennille, grandchildren, Shawn K. Crosby of Milledgeville, Whitney E. Raley and her husband Frank of Davisboro, Dawn K. Higging, of Atlanta, Garyth Everett and his wife Karen, Drew Everett, Jessica K. Thompson and her husband Keith of Tennille and Brandon Kennedy and his wife Mollie all of Tennille, 11 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren and her sister, Sara A. Brown of Warthen.

The family will be the Everett residence on Piney Mt. Road south of Tennille and they will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
