Dorothy Patterson Veal

Mrs. Dorothy Patterson Veal, age 81, of Sandersville, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington County Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Veal was a native of Baldwin County the daughter of the late George Ivey Patterson and the late Fannie Bertha Batson Patterson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is predeceased by her husband, Thurlon Swain Veal; three brothers, Charlie Berry Patterson, Grover Lee Patterson and George Roy Patterson; and three sisters, Mary Frances Patterson Robinson, Irene Patterson Layfield and Ione Patterson Townsend.

Survivors are her son, Randall Veal of Harrison; nieces and nephews; and her brother-in-law Thurston Veal of Sandersville.

The family will be at the home of her nephew Perry and Jamie Veal on New Tennille Road, Harrison and they will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
