Mrs. Dovie Moye Morris, age 95, of Riddleville, Georgia died Wednesday December 2 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 4 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Chad Watkins and Rev. Wade Dawson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Pete Golden, Bill Nelson, Grant Golden, Brad Griffith, Eddie Moye and Bert Moye.
Mrs. Morris was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Issac Moye and the late Mollie Pilcher Moye. She was the wife of the late Pierce E. Morris. Mrs. Morris was a former employee of the Holmes Canning Company, the Central Packing Company and the Georgia Forestry Commission. She was a homemaker and she worked with zeal in her garden. She was a member of the Davisboro Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors are her daughter, Betty M. Golden and her husband, Jamie Golden of Augusta, two grandchildren, Pete (Marci) Golden of Comer, and Julie G. (Bill) Nelson of Watkinsville, five great grandchildren, Grant Golden, Lila Golden, Lyndi Golden, Jesse Nelson and Betty Carol Nelson, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family suggest that donations be made to the Extended Care Facility Activities Fund, P. O. Box 636, Sandersville, Georgia 31082
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday.
