Dr. Jason Chase Wright, age 63, of Washington County, Georgia passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home near Harrison Georgia. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Sandersville with Reverend Steve Clifton officiating. Mr. Wright's family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Parish Hall of Grace Church.
Jason was born in Newton, N.J. son of the late Donn D. Wright and the late Barbara Townsend Wright. He was reared in Phippsburg Maine and graduated from Bridgeton Academy where he learned his love of history and excelled in Soccer. After receiving a bachelor's degree in history he began a long career as an educator. He was a member of the faculty at the Canterbury School in Saint Petersburg FL. where he taught history, enjoyed coaching golf, soccer and basketball and participated in the school's theater program. Jason received both Masters and Doctorate degrees from Argosy University in Tampa specializing in character development. After many years raising a family and living in the St. Pete area, Jason relocated to St. Maarten in the Caribbean, where he assumed the role of head of the department of Social Studies and Humanities at the Learning Unlimited Preparatory School. He returned to the Miami area and transitioned into an advance placement instructor at the Youth Cooperative Charter School. In 2018 he and his wife Nancie bought a small farm in rural Georgia where they together created Red Wing Farm a place of comfort and peace. He loved spending time outdoors on his farm. While living in Georgia, Jason remained in education again teaching history at Emanuel County High School and currently at Baldwin County High School as the Social Studies Chair.
Survivors include his wife Nancie Gonzalez Wright of Harrison, GA.; daughters, Samantha Elizabeth Wright of St. Petersburg, FL. and Erin Nicole Simpson and her husband Lorenzo of Ft. Polk, LA.; beloved step children, Nicholas Arvelo and his wife Anna Lise of N. Miami, FL., and Krystina Nicole Romeu of Austin, TX.; and grandchildren, Carter Chase Gonzalez, Romireo London Simpson, Olivia Lucy Simpson, Gillian Nicole Romeu, Gianna Enjolie Romeu and Kai Luis Bridgeman; and siblings, Andrea Barrett and her husband Joseph and Jefferson Wright and his wife Lorrie.
