Earl Wayne Thigpen

Mr. Earl Wayne Thigpen, age 83, of Sandersville died on Friday, August 26, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 29, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend Tim Powell will officiate with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.

Mr. Thigpen was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Milo Harrison Thigpen and the late Mary Susan Shurling Thigpen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillian Susan Thigpen McDonald. Mr. Thigpen was a retired engineer planner at Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was a navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, June Delois Garrard Thigpen of Sandersville; two sons, Wayne Garrard Thigpen and his wife Lois of Columbus, Indiana and Richard Harrison Thigpen and his wife Joann of Sandersville; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his sister, Gerdine Thigpen Brown of Sandersville.
