Ed Clark

February 28, 1938 — October 17, 2022

Mr. James Edward Clark “Ed”, of Tennille passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17 th in Augusta, Georgia after a brief illness. A native of Sparta, Ed was born on February 28 th , 1938 to Warren and Enda Clark, and was one of nine children. Ed was a hardworking man who enjoyed living life to the fullest, whether he was planting a garden, only to pass along its fruits to others, making a batch of his famous biscuits with no recipe required, taking many young and old to coon hunt or enjoying a dance on the VFW dance floor. Ed also loved cheering the Braves and Bulldogs to victory any chance he could. Ed was a founding member of Sparta Deer Camp and held many awards for his hunting talent, it was always said he was a pretty good shot.  Ed retired from the City of Sandersville after thirty years, but he didn’t let that slow him down. Even after retirement he continued to stay active and ran a busy lawn care schedule. Ed was a caring and generous man and over the years had created lasting friendships and the family is so thankful for all the adventures and memories made with these people.  Ed is predeceased by his siblings, Benny Clark, Kay Clark, Barbara Goldman, Willie Clark, and Ruthie Sheley.

Ed loved his family very much and is survived by his three sons, Andy Clark, Jamie Clark (Jill) and Chad Clark, his stepdaughter, Kimberly Story and his grandchildren, Katie Moncus (Brad), McGinnis Clark (Hayleigh), Tyson Clark, Jacey Clark, Caroline Clark, Robert Clark, Carter Clark and three great-grandchildren, Milledge, Bo and Ham Moncus. He also is survived by his siblings, Jerry Clark, Joanne Harned (Ben) and Lillie Mae Capehart and several nieces and nephews. The family also would like to thank his wonderful sitter, Lorraine Williams.
