Mr. William Edward “Eddie” Warren, age 67, of Sandersville, died Wednesday, October, 19, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.
Mr. Warren was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the son of the late Charlie Warren and the late Lorene Peeler Warren. He was a graduate of Washington County High School and the University of Georgia and he remained an avid Bulldawg fan. Eddie retired from the Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services where he worked as a case worker in adult protective services. During retirement, Eddie worked for Source Care Management and continued to support many in the community in which he had the pleasure of working with while working for DFACS. He loved walking and playing tennis. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Twin City Country Club, a former Lions Club member and he also served on the Oconee Center Mental Health Board. He was affectionately known as “Pops” by his grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife Penny Rhodes Warren of Sandersville, daughters, Katie Warren Pittman and her husband Heath of Oconee and Jessie Warren Dalton and her husband B.J. of Riddleville, grandchildren, Maddy Kate Pittman and James Rhodes Pittman and sisters, Judy W. Denton of Sandersville and Jeannie W. Baggett and her husband Preston of Macon.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
