Edgar Helton

Mr. Edgar Helton, age 91, of Tennille died Friday morning April 22 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday April 25 in the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Gary Mimbs will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randy Helton, Larry Helton, Wendell Helton, Dean Helton, Don Helton, Keith Helton and Don Helton, Jr.

Mr. Helton was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the son of the late John David Helton and the late Estella Lampp Helton. He was the husband of the late Betty Simons Helton. Mr. Helton was a retired farmer and was selected as a Washington County Farmer of the Year. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Sandersville.

Survivors are his five sons, Randy Helton and his wife Bobbie of Sandersville, Wendell Helton and his wife Linda of Milledgeville, Larry Helton and his wife Vickie of Gray, Dean Helton and his wife Debra of Sandersville and Don Helton and his wife Kathy of Tennille, a daughter, Pauline Lewis of Tennille, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.


The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
