Edward Holt "Ned" Lovell

Mr. Edward Holt “Ned” Lovell, beloved husband and father, of Marietta, Georgia died June 1, 2010.

Ned was born in Sandersville, Georgia on November 15, 1943. He also lived in Newberry, SC, Columbia, SC, Moultrie, GA and Marietta. Ned served in the United States Army from June 1961 until June l964, stationed mainly at Fort Jackson, SC. He attended the University of South Carolina. Ned started his career as a Tax Appraiser working in various jurisdictions. He started his own company, Lovell Company, in 1981 as a Real Estate Appraiser and remained self-employed until his retirement. Ned was a staunch Republican conservative who believed in returning core values to our country. He was extremely knowledgeable about antiques and was an avid collector. His other passion was the welfare of animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lovell and Margaret Holt Lovell and his sister, Midge Lovell Simmons.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice, his son, Edward Keith Lovell, two nieces and his beloved Chocolate Labrador, Brownie.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 5 in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Per Ned’s wishes, casual attire is requested at the service.
