Edwena Veal Frazier

Mrs. Edwena Veal Frazier, age 94, of Sparta passed away on Tuesday, April, 5, 2022 at Washington County ECF. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sparta City Cemetery in Sparta, Georgia. Reverend Jerry Bradley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Fred Webster, Will Webster, Steve Hill, Ronny Garland, Trey Burgamy, Edward Burgamy, and Wayne McGee. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Douglas Marchman, Kirk Brown, Thomas Frazier, Tom Roberts, and Clifford Brown.

Mrs. Frazier was born in Sandersville, on June 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Luther A. Veal and the late Mattie Priscilla Hood Veal. She was the wife of the late Hubie Maynard Frazier. Mrs. Frazier found pleasure in doing word search puzzles, going out to eat, and watching “Dancing with the Stars.” She was a nursing assistant at Central State Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Frazier loved her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sons, Lamar Frazier and Sherod Frazier and her grandchildren, Stephanie Rachels and Joey Rachels.

Mrs. Frazier is survived by sons, Gordon Luther “G.L.” Frazier (Darlene) of Tennille, and Edward Al Frazier, Sr. (Jane) of Eatonton; daughter, Deborah Kay Rachels (Donnie) of Chowta, OK; daughter-in-law, Patsy Frazier of Macon; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
